Champagne Lallier Blanc de Blancs NV Champagne: Elegance Worth Celebrating
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV LallierWent down a storm at dinner
Picked this up for a dinner party and everyone kept asking about it. It's 100% chardonnay which gives it that crisp clean thing, but there's also a sort of salty mineral edge that makes it really moreish. We finished it before the starter was done. Oops.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my wife's 40th and we were both blown away. The bubbles are so fine and creamy, and there's this lovely biscuity thing going on with lemon. At £85 it's not an everyday buy but for a celebration it's absolutely worth it.
Nice but stretching the budget
It's a solid champagne, don't get me wrong. Lovely apple and biscuit notes, fine bubbles, all that. But at nearly £85 I've had bottles at £50-60 that get pretty close. If someone else is paying, great. For my own money I'd probably shop around.
Lallier are seriously underrated
Had this on a restaurant menu and liked it so much I tracked down a bottle. That chalky, almost salty finish is so good — really sets it apart from the usual supermarket fizz. Stone fruit and brioche on the palate, proper lemon peel on the nose. One of my favourite champagnes I've tried this year.
Proper champagne, this
The wine shop guy steered me toward this when I said I wanted a blanc de blancs that wasn't Ruinart prices. Really elegant — you get that classic toasty brioche character but it stays fresh and citrusy. The finish goes on forever too. Would definitely buy again for a special occasion.
