Champagne Guenin Effloraison
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV GueninAbsolutely smashed it with this one
Opened this on New Year's Eve and it completely stole the show from the more expensive bottle we had chilling. Beautiful complexity, proper structure, and that acidity keeps everything so fresh and lively. Already ordered more for the fridge.
Nice but bit steep
It's a good champagne, don't get me wrong. Lovely fresh nose and the bubbles are fine and persistent. But for £44 I'd probably want a tiny bit more wow factor. Would happily drink it again if someone else was buying though!
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my 40th and honestly it was the highlight of the night. Really crisp and fresh with proper depth to it — not just fizz and nothing else. At £44 it's not cheap but for a special occasion it felt worth every penny.
This stuff is gorgeous
Picked this up after seeing it on a list at a restaurant and tracked down a bottle to have at home. There's so much going on — layers of fruit and this bright acidity that keeps it really lively. One of the best champagnes I've had under £50.
New favourite find
I don't know loads about champagne but I know what I like, and I really liked this. It's got a lovely sort of graceful quality to it — not too sharp, not too sweet, just really pleasant. The finish lingers in a nice way too.
Solid champagne, would buy again
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something a bit different from the usual Moët. Really clean finish and there's a nice richness underneath without being heavy. Good balance overall.
Great for a dinner party
Brought this to a friend's dinner party and everyone was asking about it. It's elegant without being snooty if that makes sense. Goes down dangerously easy at 12.5%.
Pretty good, not mind-blowing
Decent champagne with a nice clean taste. I liked the freshness on the nose and it's well made for sure. I'm just not sure it stands out enough at this price point when there are some great crémants around for half the money.
