Champagne Demiere Es Sens Blanc Meunier Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV DemiereWay better than Moët
I'm no expert but I know what I like and this is properly good. So much more interesting than the big brand stuff. The fruit is like really ripe apples and plums and there's this toasty biscuity quality that keeps you going back for more. Had it with some takeaway sushi and it was brilliant.
Perfect for our anniversary
My partner picked this up for our anniversary and we both really enjoyed it. It smells like peach blossom and pastry which sounds weird but works. The bubbles are tiny and delicate and it's got this savoury chalky thing that stops it being too fruity. At 12.5% we managed to share the bottle without falling asleep on the sofa too.
Impressed the in-laws
Brought this to a dinner party and everyone asked about it. It's really elegant without being boring — got this yellow plum flavour that I wasn't expecting and a sort of almond nuttiness at the end. My mother-in-law actually wrote down the name which is basically a five star review from her.
Decent, expected more wow factor
Saw this recommended online and gave it a go. It's well made for sure — clean finish, nice fizz, citrusy at the end. But at this price point I was hoping to be blown away and it was more of a quiet nod of approval. Would probably try other things from Demiere though.
Nice but bit steep
It's a lovely champagne don't get me wrong — smooth bubbles, fruity but not sweet, nice toasty finish. But £47 is a lot when you can get decent cremant for half that. I'd buy it again for a special dinner but not as a regular thing.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my 40th and it was spot on. Really bready and appley on the nose, then this gorgeous plummy thing going on when you drink it. The bubbles are super fine too, felt properly luxurious. Worth every penny for a special occasion.
Solid champagne, proper stuff
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something different from the usual big names. It's 100% Meunier which apparently is unusual. Really liked the baked apple and brioche thing going on, and it's got a nice chalky dryness to it. Good shout.
