Castello di Tassarolo Gavi Spinola 2024 Certified Biodynamic
Red 14% ABV ABV Castello di TassaroloDecent but bit pricey
It's a nice wine, don't get me wrong. Smells great as soon as you pour it and there's plenty going on flavour-wise. But nearly £18 for a Gavi? I've had perfectly good ones for a tenner. The biodynamic thing is cool I suppose but I'm not sure I'd pay the premium again.
Nice with pasta night
Saw this on a restaurant menu and liked it enough to track down a bottle for home. Goes brilliantly with creamy pasta dishes — the firm acidity cuts right through it. £17.95 is reasonable, not cheap but you can taste the quality. Would buy again.
Solid biodynamic find
Been trying to drink more biodynamic wines lately and this Gavi is a good one. Clean finish that keeps you coming back for another sip. The structure surprised me — way more going on than your average Italian white. Fair price too for what you're getting.
Birthday treat that delivered
My wife got me this for my birthday because she knows I love Italian whites. Honestly blown away by how complex it is, there's real concentration in the middle and it just builds and builds. The acidity balances out the weight perfectly. Already ordered another bottle.
Really impressive white
Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. Really expressive on the nose straight away, you don't have to swirl it around for ages waiting for something to happen. Loads of depth for a white wine and the acidity keeps it fresh. At £18 it's not an everyday buy but it's definitely worth it for a nice weekend dinner.
Good but a bit much
Bought this for a dinner party and it went down fine but honestly at 14% it's quite heavy for a white. I kept thinking it was trying to be a red wine. Nice enough flavours and it's well made, just not really my style. Would probably pick something lighter next time.
