Jason Steel VIPsAllowed - Birthday treat that delivered
9/10

Got this as a birthday present to myself and wow, really glad I did. The nose hits you straight away — no swirling and waiting around, just proper aromatics from the get-go. At £40 it's not an everyday bottle but for a special occasion it's absolutely worth it.

Jorge Castillo VIPsAllowed - Castellare doesn't miss
8/10

Had a few wines from Castellare over the years and this keeps up the standard. Expressive on the nose, structured on the palate, and that finish just hangs around in the best way. Not a wine you rush through — sat with a glass of this for ages after dinner just enjoying it.

Natalie Ford VIPsAllowed - Solid Italian red
8/10

Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. Really well balanced — good fruit but not jammy, and there's a firmness to it that keeps things interesting. The finish lingers nicely too. Would buy again.

Farah Abboud VIPsAllowed - Nice enough, not sure about the hype
7/10

Saw this recommended online and decided to try it. It's a pleasant red with decent depth and a clean finish. I enjoyed drinking it but I'm still pretty new to Italian wines and honestly couldn't tell you why this costs £40 vs a £15 bottle. Maybe my palate needs more training!

Sophia Laurent VIPsAllowed - Perfect with a slow Sunday roast
8/10

Had this with a lamb roast and it was a brilliant match. At 14% it's got some heft to it but it doesn't feel heavy or boozy at all. There's layers to it — keeps revealing new stuff as you sip. Really enjoyed this one.

Yasmine Najjar VIPsAllowed - Good but bit steep
7/10

Decent wine, don't get me wrong. Plenty going on flavour-wise and it opens up nicely as you drink it. But at nearly forty quid I'd want it to blow my socks off, and it didn't quite get there for me. Would probably pick something else at that price point.

Zara Al-Hassan VIPsAllowed - Dinner party winner
9/10

Brought this to a dinner party and everyone kept asking about it. It smells incredible the moment you pour it, which is great because I'm too impatient for all that decanting business. Complex and interesting without being pretentious. Going to stock up on a few more.
