Ca'Rugate Monte Fiorentine Soave Classico DOC 2023
Red 14% ABV ABV Ca'RugateNice but a bit steep
It's a decent Soave, clean and well made, but honestly I've had bottles at £12-13 that I've enjoyed just as much. The finish is nice and clean though, I'll give it that. Probably wouldn't buy again at this price.
My new favourite Soave
I've been getting into Italian whites recently and this Ca'Rugate is probably the best Soave I've tried so far. Really expressive on the nose, proper fruity but in an elegant way, not like cheap sweet wine. Goes brilliantly with pasta and lighter fish dishes.
Good stuff, would buy again
Saw this on a restaurant menu a few months back and tracked it down online. The acidity is spot on — refreshing without being sharp. At 14% it's got a bit more body than I expected which I quite liked. Solid wine.
Decent but didn't blow me away
Got this as a birthday present and it was perfectly nice but I wasn't reaching for a second glass if that makes sense. Clean finish, well balanced, nothing wrong with it at all — just didn't really grab me. Maybe I need to try it with food next time instead of on its own.
Solid choice for dinner
Bought two bottles of this for a dinner party and it went down really well. Good structure to it, not one of those thin watery whites — there's proper depth here. Everyone asked what it was which is always a good sign.
Really impressed with this one
Picked this up from my local wine shop on the guy's recommendation and really glad I did. Lovely crisp acidity, not too heavy at all — drank the whole bottle over a long Sunday lunch with the family. At around £20 it's not an everyday wine but it's worth it for a treat.
