Bukkuram Padre Della Vigna 2019 Passito / De Bartoli
Red 14% ABV ABV De BartoliGood wine, hard to justify the price
Got this as a birthday present and I enjoyed it a lot, proper intense dried fruit flavours and it smells amazing straight out of the bottle. The long finish is genuinely impressive. But if I'm being honest, I wouldn't spend nearly £80 of my own money on it when there are solid Passitos for half that.
Had this in Sicily and tracked it down
Tried a glass of this at a restaurant in Marsala last summer and spent weeks trying to find it back home. It's a proper Passito — loads of dried fruit but there's a freshness underneath that keeps you coming back. Genuinely one of those wines where you just sit and think about what you're tasting.
Special occasion wine
Bought this for my wife's 40th and wow, it did not disappoint. The dried fruit thing is real — raisins, figs, all that good stuff. It just keeps going after you swallow, like the flavour hangs around for ages. Pricey at £78 but for a big birthday it felt worth it.
Interesting but not sure I'd rebuy
The guy at my local wine shop talked me into this and it's definitely different from what I usually drink. Really rich and concentrated, almost like a dessert wine but not as sweet as I expected. The acidity stops it being cloying which is nice. Bit steep for what it is though — I'd want to be closer to £50.
Absolutely stunning after dinner
Opened this after a big Sunday roast with the in-laws and everyone went quiet for a second after the first sip. So much going on — really complex and layered, and the finish goes on forever. De Bartoli clearly know what they're doing. Already planning to grab another bottle for Christmas.
