Bruno Paillard Premiere Cuvee Rose Brut Champagne / Magnum
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Bruno PaillardMy new favourite champagne
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this and wow. So much going on — wild strawberry on the nose, then this really clean finish that just lingers. We had it with smoked salmon starters on Christmas day and it was perfect. Already ordered another magnum for New Year's.
Good but I expected more
Look it's a nice champagne, the strawberry flavours are there and it's well made. But for £152 I was expecting to be blown away and I wasn't quite. I've had rosé champagnes at half the price that I've enjoyed just as much. That said the finish is genuinely long and clean so maybe I need to give it another go.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought the magnum for our anniversary dinner and it was absolutely stunning. Beautiful salmon pink colour, loads of strawberry and red fruit flavours, and the bubbles are so fine and elegant. At £152 for a magnum it's not cheap but honestly for Bruno Paillard quality I think it's fair.
Really nice rosé champagne
Had this at a friend's wedding and tracked down a bottle afterwards. Lovely redcurrant and biscuity thing going on, and it's got a crispness that keeps you coming back for more. Bit pricey for what it is if I'm honest, but it is proper champagne so you get what you pay for I suppose.
Classy stuff
Picked this up as a birthday present for my wife and we ended up sharing it over a long Sunday lunch. Not too heavy at 12.5%, which meant we could happily work through the magnum without feeling rough. The fizz is really delicate and there's a lovely biscuity quality underneath the red berry fruit. Would definitely buy again.
