Bruno Paillard Blanc de Noirs Champagne / Extra Brut
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Bruno PaillardBest champagne I've had in ages
Had this at a friend's dinner party and immediately went and bought a bottle for myself. The brioche and stone fruit on the nose is gorgeous and the finish just goes on and on. This is the kind of champagne that makes you understand why people get obsessed with the stuff.
Great with a roast chicken
I'm no expert but I know what I like, and this is really nice. Had it with a Sunday roast and it worked surprisingly well — the acidity cuts through richer food. Smells amazing too, sort of fruity and bready at the same time. Would love to try more from Bruno Paillard.
Impressive stuff
My wife picked this up after someone at the wine shop recommended it. Definitely more serious than your average fizz — you get this lovely baked apple thing going on and it's got real depth to it. Would buy again but probably only for occasions given the price.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my 40th and wow, it did not disappoint. Really bready, toasty smell when you pour it, and the taste is properly dry without being harsh. At £82 it's not cheap but for a special occasion champagne it's genuinely excellent.
Proper grown-up champagne
Saw this on a restaurant wine list and decided to try a bottle at home. It's seriously good — structured and complex without being showy. You can taste the quality in every sip. The dry finish with those toasty notes is exactly what I want from champagne.
Bit pricey for what it is
Look it's a nice champagne, no question. Toasty, lemony, well made. But at over £80 a bottle I've had comparable stuff for less. If someone else is buying then absolutely, but I wouldn't reach for it regularly myself.
Served this at our engagement party
Wanted something a step above the usual suspects and this was perfect. Everyone commented on it — the chalky minerally quality makes it really refreshing and it went brilliantly with the canapes. The almond and citrus notes are subtle but really lovely.
Really good but quite dry
Fair warning if you like your fizz on the sweeter side — this is Extra Brut so it's bone dry. That said, the fruit comes through really nicely, sort of peachy and appley. I preferred it with food rather than on its own. Good quality for sure.
