Bruno Paillard Blanc de Blancs Liberte 2013 Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Bruno PaillardBirthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my 40th and wow, it did not disappoint. Really elegant bubbles, not aggressive like some champagnes, and there's this lovely clean finish that keeps you going back for more. At £88 it's not cheap but for a special occasion it felt worth every penny.
So smooth and easy to drink
Picked this up from a wine merchant on a whim because I liked the label (don't judge me). Turns out it's seriously good — really smooth, not too heavy at 12.5%, and the bubbles are tiny and persistent. Went perfectly with the salmon starter we had. Will definitely be buying this for Christmas.
Best blanc de blancs I've had
I've been slowly working my way through different champagnes and this Bruno Paillard is probably the best I've tried. The acidity is spot on — crisp and driving without being sharp. Genuinely complex stuff that kept revealing new things with every sip. Would absolutely buy again.
Understated and classy
This isn't a champagne that shouts at you, it's more of a quiet confidence thing. The aromatics hit you straight away but the palate just builds slowly. Had it with some oysters and it was a perfect match. Bit of an investment but you're getting quality here.
Good but expected more at this price
Maybe my expectations were too high given the price tag. It's elegant and well made, don't get me wrong — the bubbles are really fine and it's got a nice clean acidity. I just felt like for £88 I wanted something that blew me away a bit more. Would still recommend trying it though.
Proper champagne
Had this at a friend's dinner party and immediately asked what it was. There's a real structure to it that you don't get with cheaper fizz. The finish just lingers quietly and makes you want another glass. Tracked down a bottle for myself the next week.
Lovely but pricey
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something a bit special for our anniversary dinner. It's really good — pure Chardonnay, fine bubbles, lovely depth to it. But nearly £90 is a lot and I'm not sure it's twice as good as a £45 bottle. Still, very classy.
