Bruno Paillard 2015 Élan Vintage Brut Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Bruno PaillardServed this at Christmas, big hit
Brought this out with the starter on Christmas Day and it got the whole table talking. My dad who normally only drinks beer said it was the best thing he'd tasted all year. It's got real substance to it, not just a celebration prop. The acidity keeps it fresh and lively without being sharp.
Best champagne I've had in years
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this and I'm so glad I listened. It's got this gorgeous depth to it — proper champagne that actually tastes like something, not just bubbles and acid. The finish just lingers and lingers. Already ordered another bottle.
Birthday treat that delivered
Got this for my 40th and wow, it really is a step up from what I normally drink. There's so much going on in the glass — every sip I noticed something different. At £90 it's not an everyday buy but for a special occasion it felt worth every penny.
Lovely but took a minute to get into
Opened this at a dinner party and honestly the first glass didn't blow me away. But by the second pour it had really opened up and everyone was commenting on how good it was. Really layered and interesting, not just your standard fizz. Would buy again for the right occasion.
Really nice but bit steep
Tried this at a restaurant and liked it enough to track down a bottle. It's genuinely good — complex, well balanced, and drinks really smoothly for 12.5%. But at £90 I keep thinking I could get two pretty decent bottles of something else for the same money. Torn on this one.
