Brice Bouzy Grand Cru 2016 Vintage Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV BriceNice but maybe not £83 nice
Had this at a restaurant and liked it enough to track down a bottle. It's good — clean finish, decent complexity, keeps you interested. But at £83 I was expecting to be blown away and it was more of a solid 'yeah that's really nice' than a mind-blowing moment. Would happily drink it again if someone else is buying though.
Best champagne I've had in ages
I don't usually spend this much on champagne but a friend brought a bottle round and I was completely sold. The smell hits you straight away, no swirling needed, just pour and enjoy. Really well balanced between richness and freshness. Ordered two more the next day.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my 40th and wow, glad I did. Really expressive stuff right from the first glass — fruity but not sweet, with this lovely crisp backbone that kept me coming back. At £83 it's not cheap but for a grand cru vintage champagne it felt like solid value. The finish just lingers in this really satisfying way.
Great bottle for a special dinner
Picked this up on recommendation from my local wine shop for an anniversary dinner. It's got proper depth to it, not like the usual fizz you grab off the shelf. Ripe fruit flavours balanced with good acidity so it doesn't get cloying. Bit pricey for a regular buy but I'd get it again for an occasion.
