Bressan Grigio in Grigio 2019
Red 14% ABV ABV BressanSeriously impressive stuff
Bought this for my wife's birthday dinner and we ended up talking about it all evening. There's so much going on — every sip you notice something different. The finish just hangs around in the best way. At £57 it's not cheap but honestly felt worth it for a special occasion.
Solid but needs time
Opened this a bit too young I think. First glass was quite tight and firm, but by the second it started opening up and showing more fruit. The acid backbone is strong — not a crowd-pleaser straight away but rewards patience. Decant it or give it another year or two.
Nice but bit pricey for what it is
Had this at a friend's house and thought it was good, maybe not £57 good though. The nose is gorgeous, really draws you in, and it's well balanced. But I've had wines at half the price that I enjoyed just as much. Would try other Bressan bottles before rebuying this one.
Dinner party hit
Brought this to a dinner party and it got a lot of attention. People kept commenting on how the flavours kept shifting. It's confident without being showy if that makes sense. Everyone wanted to know where I got it.
Goes great with a roast
Picked this up after reading about it online. Had it with a slow-cooked lamb shoulder and it was perfect — enough structure to stand up to the meat but not overwhelming. Clean finish too, no weird aftertaste. Would definitely get again for a Sunday roast.
Wow this is different
I'm not super knowledgeable about wine but this one really stood out to me. It smells amazing straight away and the taste has loads of depth. My partner who knows more about wine than me said it was one of the best things we've opened this year.
Really interesting wine
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something unusual. It's a red made from Pinot Grigio grapes which I didn't even know was a thing. Really layered and complex, keeps changing in the glass. Good acidity too, not heavy at all for 14%.
Expected more at this price
Saw this on a restaurant wine list and ordered it because the description sounded amazing. It's well made and the nose is lovely, I'll give it that. But at nearly £60 I was expecting to be blown away and it just didn't quite get there for me. Pleasant finish though, nothing to complain about really.
