Haruki Sato VIPsAllowed - Birthday treat that delivered
8/10

My wife got me this for my birthday after the guy at the wine merchant recommended Duband. Really glad she did. There's proper depth here, way more than I expected. The 14% alcohol sounds high but you honestly can't tell — everything just works together.

Opened this for a Saturday night with friends and it went down really well. Clean and expressive right out of the bottle, didn't need ages of breathing. We had it with lamb and it was a perfect match. Would definitely buy again.

Noah Williams VIPsAllowed - Nice but hard to justify the price

Look, this is a tasty red burgundy — good fruit, balanced, smooth finish. But £44 for a regional Bourgogne Rouge? I've had village-level wines for similar money. If it were closer to £30 I'd be raving about it.

Dmitri Volkov VIPsAllowed - Punching well above its weight
9/10

Bought this on a whim from my local wine shop and honestly wasn't expecting much from a basic Bourgogne. But this is seriously good — loads of fruit but not jammy, and it's got a backbone to it that kept me coming back for another glass. At £44 it's not cheap for the appellation but David Duband clearly knows what he's doing.

Benjamin Ross VIPsAllowed - Best Bourgogne I've had in ages
9/10

Had this at a restaurant last month and immediately tracked down a couple of bottles for home. It's so clean and confident, none of that thin, washed-out thing you sometimes get with entry-level burgundy. Genuinely impressive stuff from the 2022 vintage.

Daniel Torres VIPsAllowed - Solid everyday red (if your budget allows)
7/10

Picked this up after seeing some hype online. It's good — nice structure, pleasant finish that lingers nicely. I enjoyed it with a simple pasta bolognese on a Tuesday night. Only gripe is the price means it can't really be my go-to weeknight wine, which is a shame.

Rosa Paredes VIPsAllowed - Surprised me

I'm still fairly new to burgundy and usually stick to cheaper options, but this was recommended by a friend who knows his stuff. Really aromatic when you pour it, and it stayed interesting all the way through the glass. Felt like a proper treat without being intimidating.
