Bollinger Special Cuvee NV Champagne / Magnum
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV BollingerThe magnum makes a difference
Got this for New Year's instead of the regular bottle and honestly you can tell. It's richer and smoother somehow, like everything's just more settled. At £122 for a magnum it's actually not bad value compared to buying two standard bottles. Will definitely do this again next year.
Good but expected more at this price
Look, it's nice champagne and I enjoyed drinking it. But for £122 I was expecting something that would completely blow me away and it didn't quite get there. It's well balanced and the finish is clean and lingering, but I've had cheaper fizz that excited me more. Maybe I'd feel differently if someone else was paying.
Bollinger never lets you down
The wine shop guy recommended the magnum over the regular bottle and said it ages better because of the format. He wasn't wrong. Poured beautifully all evening for a dinner party of six, and everyone kept commenting on how good it was. Rich and confident without being heavy. Classic Bollinger.
Solid but pricey
Tried this at a friend's wedding and tracked down a magnum for our anniversary dinner. It's really good champagne, no question — crisp acidity, lovely biscuity richness, clean finish. But at £122 I'd probably only buy it for special occasions. There are decent champagnes at half the price that get you 80% of the way there.
Best champagne I've ever had
My husband surprised me with this for my 40th and wow. It's got this amazing depth to it, proper fruity but not sweet, and the bubbles are so fine and elegant. We drank it with a cheese board and it was perfect. I don't think I can go back to prosecco after this.
Perfect for sharing
Bought this for a big family lunch and the magnum format is just brilliant — looks impressive on the table and there's enough to go round without opening three bottles. The champagne itself is gorgeous, really structured and fruity with a freshness that keeps you coming back for more. At 12.5% we managed to stay reasonably sensible too which is always a bonus.
