Bollinger Special Cuvée NV / Half-Bottle
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV BollingerNice but pricy for a half
Look, it's good champagne, no question. Rich nose, decent complexity on the palate. But nearly £34 for a half bottle? You can get a full bottle of something pretty decent for that money. I'd buy it again if it was on offer but not at full price.
Perfect half bottle for two
Bought this for a date night in and it was spot on. Really rich and toasty smell when you pop it open, and it's got proper depth to it — not just fizzy wine. The acidity keeps it fresh and interesting. £34 for a half bottle is a bit steep but honestly it felt worth it for the occasion.
Solid champagne, does the job
Had this at a restaurant and liked it enough to grab a half bottle from the shop. It's well made, good balance of fruit and that dry crisp finish. Not the most exciting champagne I've ever had but consistently good. You can tell it's a proper house style they've nailed down.
Reliable classic
The wine shop guy steered me toward this when I said I wanted something special but not crazy expensive. It's very Bollinger — that recognisable toasty richness is there from the first sip. Good structure, balanced, finishes nicely without hanging around too long. Would happily order it again.
Birthday treat!
My wife got me this for my birthday and wow, it's really lovely. I'm no expert but you can just tell it's quality — the bubbles are fine, the flavour builds as you drink it, and it finishes really clean. The half bottle size was actually ideal for splitting between two with some cheese and crackers.
This is what champagne should taste like
I've been slowly trying different champagnes this year and Bollinger is easily one of my favourites so far. There's a real depth and weight to it that a lot of other ones don't have. The acidity keeps everything in check so it never feels heavy. Half bottle is great for a Tuesday night when you just fancy something nice but don't want to commit to a full one.
