Bollinger Grand Annee 2015 Champagne / Gift Box
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV BollingerGood not great for the money
Saw this recommended online and treated myself. It's definitely a step up from supermarket fizz — you get the toasty brioche notes and the bubbles are really fine and elegant. But at nearly £150 I expected to be more blown away? It's very nice, just not sure it's twice-the-price-of-Veuve nice. Maybe I need to try it with food.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought this for our anniversary and it was genuinely incredible. The toasty bread thing going on with the bubbles was so good, and it just kept getting better as we drank it. At £146 it's not an everyday thing obviously but for a big occasion? Absolutely worth it.
Really good but hard to justify the price
Had this at a friend's dinner party and it was lovely — proper complex with loads of layers and a savoury thing going on that I really liked. But £146 is a lot for champagne when you can get solid stuff for half that. I'd happily drink it again if someone else is buying though.
Bollinger know what they're doing
The guy at my local wine shop talked me into this over the usual Moët and honestly fair play to him. It's got a richness to it that cheaper champagnes just don't have — almost bready and fruity at the same time. The finish sticks around too, really clean. Gift box is a nice touch as well.
Best champagne I've ever had
My wife got me this in the gift box for my 40th and wow. You can smell the brioche straight away, and there's this fruity depth that I've never really got from other champagnes. We finished the bottle way too fast. Already planning to buy another for Christmas.
