Billecart-Salmon Elisabeth Salmon Rose 2012 Champagne / Gift Box
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Billecart-SalmonClassy stuff
Picked this up for New Year's Eve. It's got a nice brioche-y smell and tastes like proper red berries, not that fake strawberry flavour you get with cheaper rosé fizz. Really well balanced. Would buy again if my wallet allowed it more often.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought this for our anniversary and wow. The bubbles are so fine and delicate, and there's this gorgeous berry thing going on that just makes you want to keep sipping. At £179 it's not cheap but honestly for a once-a-year treat it's absolutely stunning.
Good but maybe overhyped?
Had this at a restaurant after seeing it recommended everywhere. It's nice — clean, precise, good acidity — but at this price point I was expecting to be completely blown away and I wasn't quite there. Maybe I'd appreciate it more with food.
Lovely but hard to justify the price
Got this as a birthday present and it's genuinely delicious — light, crisp, with proper depth to it. Beautiful pale pink colour too. But I'd struggle to spend £179 of my own money on it when there are good champagnes at half the price.
The gift box is gorgeous too
Bought this for my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. They're not massive wine people but even they said it was something special. Mum loved the berry flavours and Dad said it was the smoothest champagne he'd ever had. The gift box presentation is spot on as well.
Best rosé champagne I've had
A mate brought this to a dinner party and I've been thinking about it since. Really elegant with red fruit flavours and a bit of a bready note underneath. The finish just goes on and on without being heavy. Immediately went and ordered one for myself.
Converted me to rosé champagne
I always thought rosé champagne was a bit gimmicky until the guy at my local wine shop talked me into trying this. It's seriously complex, not just pink and pretty. The red berry fruit is really well defined and it has this subtle richness that builds as you drink it. 12.5% as well so you can actually enjoy a few glasses.
Blew my mind at a tasting
Tried this at a wine shop tasting event and it stood out from everything else on the table. There's a floral quality to it that's really unusual for champagne, and the acidity keeps it fresh and lively. Treated myself to the gift box version for Christmas.
