Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve NV Champagne 75cl
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Billecart-SalmonNew go-to celebration fizz
Bought this for my wife's birthday and we were both blown away. The bubbles are so fine and delicate, and there's this lovely bready, almost pastry-like thing going on underneath the fruit. At fifty quid it's not cheap but honestly it felt special enough to justify it.
Really impressed
I'm still learning about wine but I can tell this is quality. It's got this interesting depth to it — like fruity and fresh on top but something richer underneath, almost like toast? The bubbles are super fine too, not aggressive like some cheaper ones I've had.
Treat yourself
My friend who's properly into wine brought this round and I get the hype now. It's complex but not in a way where you need a degree to appreciate it, just genuinely delicious. The bubbles are persistent and gentle and it's got this lovely lingering finish. Yes it's fifty quid but life's short innit.
Good but is it £50 good?
Look, this is a nice champagne. Crisp, elegant, proper bubbles, bit of brioche on the nose. But I've had bottles at £35 that got pretty close. If someone else is buying, absolutely, but I'd think twice about grabbing it regularly at this price.
This is the one
Had this at a restaurant last year and spent ages trying to track it down. The finish is so clean and it just makes you want another sip immediately. Served it at Christmas and even my dad who "doesn't really do champagne" had three glasses.
Perfect for a warm evening
Saw Billecart-Salmon recommended on a wine forum and grabbed a bottle to try. That citrus lift is real — it's so refreshing and lively without being sharp. Had it with some smoked salmon starters and it was a great match. Would definitely buy again.
Classy stuff
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something a step up from Moët for a dinner party. He was right — it's got a really clean, crisp acidity that keeps you coming back for more. The apple and citrus flavours are lovely and it doesn't get sickly at all.
Solid champagne, nothing wrong with it
Picked this up from Waitrose for New Year's Eve. It's well made, proper champagne with good fizz and nice orchard fruit flavours. Clean and refreshing. I just personally prefer something with a bit more weight to it, but my partner loved it.
