Billecart-Salmon Blanc de Blancs Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Billecart-SalmonBirthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my wife's 40th and we were both really impressed. Lovely crisp citrus thing going on, really clean and refreshing. We demolished the bottle before the main course even arrived. At 75 quid it's not cheap but for a special occasion it felt worth every penny.
My new go-to for dinner parties
Had this at a friend's house and immediately went and tracked down a bottle myself. It's all Chardonnay which apparently makes it a blanc de blancs — you learn something new every day. Really elegant without being boring, proper acidity that cuts through rich food. We had it with a cheese board and it was spot on.
Solid champagne, keeps you coming back
Saw this on a restaurant wine list and decided to grab a bottle from a shop instead at £75. Glad I did. There's a white flower and citrus nose that's really pretty, and it drinks so easily — dangerously easy at 12.5%. Not the most complex champagne I've ever had but everything about it just works. Already on my second bottle this month.
Nice but expected more for the price
The wine shop guy recommended this over Moët and honestly it is better — more interesting, kind of mineral and citrusy rather than just generic fizz. But at nearly £75 I wanted a bit more wow factor. The finish is pleasant but doesn't exactly linger. Would buy again on offer but not at full whack.
