Barbadillo Criadera Selection Oloroso En Rama
Red 14% ABV ABV BarbadilloProper grown-up wine for under £20
Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. Really rich and layered — I kept finding new stuff in the glass every time I went back to it. At £19.50 this is honestly a steal for how complex it is.
Nice en rama oloroso
I've been getting into sherries lately and this Barbadillo is a solid pick. The aromas hit you straight away and there's a nice long finish that kind of lingers without being too much. Good value at this price point, though I've had slightly better for a couple quid more.
Interesting but not really my thing
My partner loves sherry so I got this as a birthday present. It's well made and all that — confident nose, clean finish — but I think I just prefer something fruitier. She loved it though so I can't complain too much.
Way better than expected
Saw this on a menu and ordered it on a whim. Genuinely surprised by how much was going on — loads of depth and the acidity keeps it from being heavy. 14% ABV but you'd never know it, goes down dangerously easy. Will be buying a bottle for home.
Solid sherry, great with cheese
Bought this for a dinner party and served it with a cheese board. The oxidative character is really pronounced and it's got this lovely nutty, concentrated thing going on. Not the most approachable wine if you're new to sherry but definitely rewarding if you give it time.
Bit much for a casual drink
Bought this to have with dinner on a Friday night and it's a lot. Very intense and dry — I think you need to be in the mood for it. Quality is clearly there but at nearly £20 I'd probably just grab something easier to drink next time.
