Ashling Park Rose 2014
Rosé 12% ABV ABV Ashling ParkGood with food
Saw this on a restaurant menu and thought I'd give English rosé a go. It's got a nice acidity that cuts through richer food — had it with salmon and it worked really well. There's a bit of depth to it that surprised me honestly. Would buy a bottle for home if I spotted it.
Solid English rosé
Had this at a friend's barbecue and liked it enough to track down a bottle myself. It's got a nice crispness to it and there's more going on than your average rosé — kept noticing different things as I drank it. Not sure I'd buy it every week at that price but it's a proper wine, not just pink water.
Birthday treat that delivered
Got this as a birthday present and wow, it's from 2014 so I wasn't sure what to expect but it's still tasting brilliant. Really focused flavours, nothing tired about it at all. Light enough at 12% that we polished off the bottle over lunch without feeling rough. Proper treat.
Nice but a bit pricey for what it is
The wine shop guy recommended this as a good English rosé and it is nice, don't get me wrong. Clean finish, well made, easy to drink. But £34 for a rosé is a tough sell when you can get something perfectly decent from Provence for half that. I'd have it again if someone else was buying.
Really impressed with this
Picked this up for a dinner party and it went down brilliantly. Lovely pink colour and it smells gorgeous straight out of the bottle — really fresh and clean. Good balance of fruity and dry, everyone kept going back for more. At £34 it's not cheap but it felt worth it for a special occasion.
