Ashling Park Brut NV
Red 14% ABV ABV Ashling ParkGood but not blown away
It's a decent sparkling wine, well made and all that. Good fruit, clean finish. But at over £36 a bottle I think I expected a bit more wow factor? I'd probably reach for a good cremant at that price unless I specifically wanted to support English wine.
Nice wine, bit pricey
Tried this at a tasting event and it was tasty enough — well balanced, bright acidity, clean finish. But I keep coming back to the price. £36 is a lot when you can get a solid champagne for similar money. That said, the quality is clearly there.
New favourite fizz
I'm not usually one for English sparkling wines but this has completely changed my mind. The nose is gorgeous and the finish just keeps going. Picked up two more bottles the next day. Christmas sorted.
Great gift wine
Bought this as a present for my dad who's really into his wines and he loved it. Said it was complex and well structured, whatever that means! All I know is we polished off the bottle pretty quickly and everyone enjoyed it. Looks nice too which helps for a gift.
Surprisingly full-bodied
Had this at a restaurant last month and liked it enough to order a bottle for home. There's a real weight to it — 14% ABV which is higher than I expected for a sparkling. Works brilliantly with richer starters, we had it with smoked salmon and it was perfect.
Proper English fizz
Bought this for my wife's birthday after the guy at our local wine shop recommended it. Really impressed — lovely bubbles, great depth of flavour and it felt genuinely special. At £36 it's not cheap but honestly it held its own against champagnes we've paid way more for.
Solid pick for a dinner party
Grabbed a couple of bottles for a dinner party and everyone kept asking about it. Nice and crisp with enough body to keep things interesting. The acidity is spot on and it doesn't taste thin like some English sparklings can. Would definitely buy again.
