Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades Brut Rose Champagne: Elegance Worth Celebrating
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Armand de BrignacTreat yourself moment
Saw this on a restaurant menu and thought sod it. Went down brilliantly with our seafood starters — there's a salty mineral thing at the end that works really well with food. The peach notes are subtle and nice. Great champagne, just wish it didn't cost a mortgage payment.
Nice but not £945 nice
Had a glass at a friend's party. It's good champagne, don't get me wrong — the apple and lemon curd flavours are clean and refreshing. But I've had £40 bottles of fizz that made me just as happy. You're paying for the gold bottle and the name.
Gorgeous bottle, solid champagne
Got this as a birthday present and honestly the bottle alone is stunning. The champagne itself is really nice — lovely green apple and a sort of bready thing going on. Is it nearly a grand better than a decent Veuve? Probably not, but it made me feel fancy.
Overhyped and overpriced
Someone brought this to a dinner party and we were all excited to try it. It's perfectly pleasant — crisp green apple, decent bubbles, fine finish. But I genuinely preferred the £30 Crémant we had afterwards. At 12.5% it's not even particularly strong. Save your money.
Style over substance at this price
Ordered this at a club in Ibiza so obviously paid even more than retail. It's fine — crisp, appley, nice bubbles. But for £945 I expected my life to change and it just tasted like... good champagne. The toasty nutty finish was probably the best bit.
Anniversary splurge
Bought this for our 10th anniversary because you only live once. Really enjoyed the peachy nose and the lemon curd flavour running through it. My wife loved it. Would I buy it again at this price? No chance, but as a one-off experience it was memorable.
Better than expected honestly
I'm not gonna lie, I assumed this was all hype and Jay-Z marketing. But it's actually a proper champagne — the mousse is incredibly fine and there's this chalky dryness that keeps you sipping. The hazelnut on the finish caught me off guard in a good way. Still mad expensive though.
