Jackson Wu VIPsAllowed - Really good but bit pricey
7/10

Tried this at a tasting event and it's genuinely excellent — very clean, bright acidity, lovely flinty quality to it. But £83 is a lot for champagne that most of my mates wouldn't appreciate over something half the price. One for when you're drinking with people who'll actually notice the difference.

Saw this on a restaurant wine list and took a chance on it. Really elegant champagne — white flowers on the nose and a proper chalky texture that I've only really had from good blanc de blancs before. It's not a crowd-pleaser in the way Veuve is, it's more serious than that. But if you're into champagne it's a treat.

If you like your champagne bone dry this is the one. Brut nature means no added sugar and it really lets the fruit and minerals shine through. Had it with some oysters and honestly it was perfect. The orchard fruit flavours are subtle but they're there underneath all that zingy acidity.

Picked this up after the guy in the wine shop recommended it over the usual Moët. It's a blanc de blancs so all Chardonnay, and you can really taste the difference — much more structured and serious than your average champagne. The chalky dry finish is lovely. Would buy again but probably only for occasions.

Nia Okafor VIPsAllowed - Best champagne I've had in ages
10/10

Had this at a friend's dinner party and immediately asked where they got it. The freshness is incredible, like lemon zest and something almost salty? And that finish just goes on and on. Ordered two bottles the next day. Le Mesnil is apparently one of the top villages for champagne and I can see why.

My wife got me this for my 40th and wow. Really crisp and citrusy with this dry mineral thing going on that just makes you want another sip. Zero dosage so it's bone dry which I love. At £83 it's not cheap but for a special occasion champagne it's absolutely worth it.
