Alta Alella Laieta Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2020: Fresh Fizz, Fine Finish
Sparkling 12% ABV ABV Alta AlellaNice but a bit pricey for what it is
It's a pleasant enough sparkling wine — clean, dry, apple and citrus flavours. But honestly for £28+ I expected something with a bit more going on. Would probably buy again if it was closer to £20.
Really nice fizz for a special night
Bought this for my wife's birthday dinner and we both really enjoyed it. Lovely green apple thing going on, and the bubbles are super fine and creamy. At nearly £29 it's not an everyday buy but for a celebration it's well worth it.
Goes down dangerously easy
Had this at a friend's dinner party and immediately asked what it was. So refreshing and dry without being harsh. There's a lovely bready quality to it that reminds me of proper Champagne. Tracked down a bottle the next week and it didn't disappoint.
Great aperitif wine
Saw this on a restaurant menu and gave it a go. Really crisp and clean with lots of apple and a bit of pear. The bubbles are delicate and it just feels elegant without being stuffy. Would happily order again.
My new favourite sparkling!
I don't know loads about wine but I absolutely loved this. It's dry and fresh with this amazing apple flavour and the fizziness is really smooth, not aggressive like prosecco can be. Brought a couple of bottles to a BBQ and everyone was asking about it. Already ordered more.
Solid Spanish sparkling
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this as an alternative to Champagne. It's crisp and fresh with a nice appley flavour, and I liked that it's brut nature so not sweet at all. Good but I'm not sure I'd pick it over a decent Crémant at this price point.
