Alexandre Lamblot 'Mouvance' Champagne 2017 / Brut Nature
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Alexandre LamblotNice but steep price
My wife's friend brought this to dinner and it was good, don't get me wrong. Really clean finish and proper depth to it. But £72+ for a bottle? I've had champagnes at half the price that I enjoyed just as much. Would drink again if someone else is buying though.
Decent, maybe not for everyone
Tried this at a restaurant and it's definitely on the drier side — like really dry. If you're used to sweeter champagnes this might throw you off. I liked the clean finish and there's good balance there but my partner wasn't a fan. At 12.5% it goes down easy which is dangerous.
Wow this is serious champagne
Picked this up after reading about grower champagnes and Alexandre Lamblot did not disappoint. The complexity in the mid-palate is genuinely impressive — layers of flavour that just keep going. 2017 vintage clearly did something right. Had it with roast chicken and it was perfect.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my 40th and honestly it was the highlight of the night. Bone dry with zero sweetness which I loved — you can really taste the fruit and acidity without anything getting in the way. At £72.50 it's not cheap but for a special occasion champagne it felt worth every penny.
Dinner party winner
Brought this to a friend's dinner party and everyone kept asking about it. It's got this quiet confidence to it — not showy but really well made. The acidity is spot on and it just makes you want to keep sipping. Not an everyday buy at that price but I'd get it again for a special meal.
The wine shop guy was right
Guy at my local recommended this when I said I wanted something dry and interesting. He wasn't kidding — there's zero dosage so it's completely brut nature, nothing hiding. Really expressive nose and a firm structure that kept me coming back for another glass. Great with some hard cheese.
