Thomas Weber VIPsAllowed - Went down brilliantly with Sunday roast
8/10

Saw this on a restaurant menu and liked it so much I ordered a couple bottles for home. It's got enough weight and structure to hold up with proper food, not just canapes. Really clear flavours and nothing artificial about it. The kind of Champagne that reminds you why the good stuff costs more.

I've been getting more into grower Champagnes lately and this Adrien Renoir is a brilliant example. Super expressive on the nose, almost no dosage sweetness hiding things. Structured and confident with a finish that lingers without being heavy. At £66 it's actually fair for Grand Cru quality.

Marcus Blackwell VIPsAllowed - Proper grown-up Champagne
8/10

Had this at a dinner party last month and tracked it down online afterwards. It's not one of those sweet, easy-drinking fizzes — it actually makes you slow down and taste it properly. The acidity is spot on and it just keeps opening up in the glass. Really well made.

Picked this up for our anniversary. It's good — clean, well-balanced, nice long finish. But honestly for the price I was expecting to be a bit more wowed? My partner loved it more than I did. Would probably try something different next time at this price point.

Got this for my 40th and wow, really glad I did. It's got this lovely richness to it but stays fresh and crisp at the same time. Kept going back to it all evening — genuinely complex stuff without being fussy. Worth the splurge for a special occasion.

Isla McCallister VIPsAllowed - Nice but steep for a weeknight

The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something a step up from my usual Prosecco. It's definitely quality — clean finish, proper bubbles, layers of flavour that keep coming. But at nearly 70 quid I can't see myself grabbing it regularly. One for celebrations.
