AA Badenhorst Curator White 2020
White 12% ABV ABV AA BadenhorstThe wine shop guy was right
Asked for something cheap but not rubbish and got pointed to this. It's genuinely interesting — nice fruit but balanced, not one of those sickly sweet cheap whites. Went great with the fish tacos we made that weekend. Proper little find.
Seriously good for £2.50
Picked this up on a whim because it was basically the cheapest white on the shelf. Honestly shocked — it's got real flavour and doesn't taste like watered-down nothing. Light and easy to drink but there's actually something going on. Will be buying again.
Good weeknight wine
Had this with some pasta on a Tuesday and it did the job nicely. Not too heavy at 12%, which I appreciate because I had work the next day. There's a bit of depth to it that surprised me for a budget bottle.
Fine but nothing special
It's alright. Clean and drinkable, decent acidity, but I wasn't blown away. My partner liked it more than I did. For the price you can't really complain though.
Decent everyday drinker
Not bad at all. It's well balanced and refreshing, though it's not going to change your life. I've been slowly getting into South African whites and this is a solid starting point. Would happily have it in the fridge for when I just want a glass after work.
Best value white I've had in ages
Bought a few bottles for a barbecue expecting nothing and ended up going back for more. It's expressive and clean with a finish that actually lingers. At £2.50 this is absolutely ridiculous value. Everyone at the party asked what it was.
